Jenka Labs Notice: COM Port Labeling Update
Physical ports are unchanged — only the printed labels differ on newer boards.
COM Port Mapping: New Board vs Old Board
This table compares the labeling differences. Note: Only the printed labels changed — the physical port locations remain identical.
New Board
| Port | Component |
|---|---|
| COM 1 | Bill Acceptor |
| COM 2 | Secondary SAS for TITO (Ticket In Ticket Out) |
| COM 3 | Interlot |
| COM 4 | Printer |
Old Board
| Port | Component |
|---|---|
| COM 1 | Touch Screen |
| COM 2 | Bill Acceptor |
| COM 3 | Printer |
| USB 1 | N/A |
What Changed — and What Didn’t
Due to a recent manufacturer labeling error on newer Jenka Labs game boards, the labeling may display the COM port positions differently than previous revisions. The hardware has not moved—only the printed labels changed. Your existing harnesses and device cabling can remain in place.
Good news: Your board’s physical COM1–COM4 ports are in the same physical locations as before. If a label appears “shifted,” follow the verification steps below.
Recommended Actions (Peripherals Not Responding)
- Check each connection at the board and at the device (validator, printer, touch, SAS).
- Confirm the device is on the intended COM or USB (e.g., validator on COM1/USB, printer on COM4).
- In the Service Menu, open Devices and verify the model/port settings match your wiring.
- Use Diagnostics to confirm the board sees each peripheral (status should be “OK/Connected”).
- If you changed ports, reboot after saving settings and test again.
Typical Port Map (Reference)
- COM1 / USB — Bill Acceptor
- COM2 / USB — Touch Screen (or Secondary SAS on some models)
- COM3 — Primary SAS
- COM4 — Printer (tickets/barcodes)
