What it does
A hopper is the part that counts coins or tokens out one at a time when a machine owes the customer money. Change machines, redemption games, kiosks and parking pay stations all rely on one, and a worn hopper is a common cause of short payouts. Two sensors watch each coin leave, giving an accurate count. It speaks ccTalk as well as simpler signalling, so it fits many control boards.
